How Southport is Supporting Canada's Next Generation of Military Flight Training
Southport Takes Flight with
New Airfield Services Agreement
Southport has officially taken another major step toward the
future of military training in Canada with the signing of its
Airfield Services Subcontract with SkyAlyne.
It’s a big moment, but more importantly, it’s a launch point.
As part of the FAcT Program, Southport isn’t just preparing
for increased activity on the airfield, it’s building the systems,
infrastructure, and team needed to support a new generation
of Canadian aircrew training.
From Airfield to Integrated Operation
Southport has supported military flight training for decades,
but FAcT raises the bar.
This agreement formalizes Southport’s role in delivering
the essential services that keep the airfield running safely,
smoothly, and continuously. From first response to daily
operations, Southport will be responsible for:
Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF)
Airfield Maintenance
Facilities Maintenance
Snow and Ice Control
Safety Management
In short: everything needed to keep aircraft moving and
operations on track, no matter the conditions.
