received a complete overhaul with updated cabinetry and new eating
and socializing spaces. All of the work was done with Southport’s
own technicians, a feat that wouldn’t have been possible a few years
prior.
Of course, not all projects are feasible to do entirely with Southport’s
employees. Some projects, such as improvements to the airport
or new construction, require specialized expertise. For projects
like this, Southport employs the tender process. A tender request
is created and distributed to relevant contractors and firms.
Submissions are carefully evaluated on criteria that indicate the
Renovated Mynarski House kitchen best candidate.

The tender process is often employed for new
development at the Southport site. Upcoming
developments include the addition of new rental
housing units, refurbishing the existing bowling alley
and installing a fibre network. The new housing units
are set to offer an enhanced living experience
with luxury finishes, while the fibre network
will allow high-speed internet access
for commercial tenants that require it.
